Have you ever heard of this expression? What does it mean?
I'm guessing it means "You add colour to my life"?
I can understand it with Jesus saying "I am the bread of life", but what does it mean when someone says to you "You are the music of my life"? I can't ask the person because he has already passed away.

It means that person loved you. When we have music in our life means everything is wonderful great to be around listen to. You made that person happy and he or she liked being around you. I am sorry that you lost someone so special to you. Don't forget to sing he or she can still hear you and will be smiling down on you. God Bless!!

Music has been, and continues to be, important to all people around the world. Music is part of a group's cultural identity; it reflects their past and separates them from surrounding people.
The life circumstances of the people listening to the music are an important part of the music itself, the statement most likely was said because the person was overtaken with joy just to be in your presence.

It means ... they are saying the individual makes life beautiful... 'ie: musical'. Just a metaphor. Imagine life without music.... dull, lifeless, etc.. So --- with music, it makes things brighter, more beautiful.

It means that you give the said person peace, solitude, and everything that music does to you, that is whatever music does to you, you do the same to this person.

People tend look at their world in usually one of 3 different ways.
Visual - how things look "you are the sunshine of my life"
Kinesthetic - sensations they feel -"I feel your concern"
Auditory - "You are the music of my life" you make him feel like he does when he hears a happy, joyful song. it makes him smile and feel better.
