Even the latest James Bond film,Casino Royale has a scene where Bond try to administer CPR to his drowned female sidekick to revive her back to life but sadly failed. Why Hollywood has so many CPR scenes and usually put the female cast to play as a victim/patient and being revived by a male doctor/rescuer?

it really easy CPR is drama. When someone needs CPR it means that the person is dead. People need CPR when they are not breathing AND do not have a pluse. Although it doesn't make for a good movie most of the time when someone needs CPR they usually are not revived. So the scene that you talk about in the new James Bond ,although I haven't seen it yet, is more likely to happen and it is more real.

Baywatch has a lot of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation since it is TV series about lifeguards in the beach.

I haven't read Fleming's book but he must've included that in the plot. Hence, the movie depicts it. Since the Bond girl drowns herself, she must be revived via CPR.

CPR's suggest something about kissing and love, I guess, and Hollywood movies want to show some thrill, romance and the suspense in having to save a person's life at the same time.

Drama and sex . . . Will she live or die? Can he save her? Rip her shirt open, pump on her chest, give a little mouth to mouth.
Sex sells.
What's bad is that most of the time CPR is not shown being administered properly. People who haven't been trained have no idea of how it's really done or how much can be involved.

well they might have the scenes but not alot of them are done properly..if you need cpr its a life and death situation so that makes for viewers would be my guess...people tend to be drawn to medical stuff
