i have been wondering this ever since i can remember. why do grocery stores put vanilla wafers (or however you spell it) right next to bananas?... every store i go to, there the wafers are, sitting directly next to the bananas. next time you go pick up some bananas... check if they are there.... most likely they are.
why do they do that?... why not put them in the cookie aisle???
and if you think this is a stupid question, then dont leave on of your stupid replys and remarks.... that will just prove who has the greater intelligence level.

There is a recipe for banana ' pie ' that has a ' crust ' of vanilla wafers. As a young girl I made this recipe as I didn't have to make a pastry rolled out crust and simply had to lay out the vanilla wafers. So, by the stores putting the vanilla wafers next to the bananas...they are planting the reminder seed of "hey, why not make banana ' pie ' . Same reason why they put popsicle sticks next to apples during autumn season . . . carmel apples.

I've noticed that too, but the vanilla wafers are always in the cookie aisle as well. Apparently bananas and wafers go good together. I've never tried it though. It's a marketing technique, plain and simple.

Because both ingredients are used in the common dessert Banana Pudding. There are other desserts that use those two ingredients as well. Most people don't eat plain vanilla wafers.

Sometimes of cream pies can have nilla wafer crust. Banana is one kind, but I prefer chocolate creme or lemon meringue. That is why they put those two items together.

I work in a grocery store, and we do it because people have a wierd sense when they see vanilla wafers. It attracts them to buy bananas, or the opposite. It's in a nutshell, a marketing ploy.
