Funny, I was afraid to talk about my suicidal thoughts because I thought that was a one way ticket to an inpatient mental unit. If you only approach those people who you trust with this information then they will not think you are seeking attention. Therapy is always a good option and a good outlet. Remember suicidal thoughts are not the same as suicidal actions. Try not to wait so long that they progress furthur than just thoughts.

Have you ever called the suicide hotline? There should be a number in your phone book. Do not stop talking about your feelings. Have you gone to counseling? Don't know your age but if you are over 18 there are usually local mental health agencies that charge by your income so you may not have to pay. If under 18 go to a teacher, another adult, doctor etc. Do not stop until you get somebody to listen. Who is prescribing your seroquil? Talk to them. It is not about trying to get attention it is a cry for help.

Suicide is a very serious issue. Nothing could be more serious than life or death. Yes, there may be some people who think you are saying this for attention, but the majority of people will likely take you seriously. I highly advise that you talk to others about your feelings. You may also want to call 1-800-SUICIDE (http://www.hopeline.com/), which provides help for those who are suicidal.

Are you just trying to get attention? Or do you really want help? Either way, there will be some people who think you are just trying to get attention, but ignore them. Talk to a counselor (or your parents if you are young). There are medications that can help you, but you have to talk to your doctor about you suicidal feelings.

Please tell those--or one closest to you. Please. You'll find the right words but don't let it go. Not everyone who tells about suicide wishes is doing it for attention. But sometimes they do it because of some problem or problems. Maybe you need to address those immediately and some or all of your suicidal feelings will diminish. You should also go seek professional help of a psychologist. Really examine your inner space, your feelings about things and situations you regularly face that might be affecting your outlook on your life. You may also need medication for depression if diagnosed as such.

Are you trying to get attention? If not, then feel free to talk about it, but I would suggest that you discuss it with a counselor. You can control those feelings to a certain extent. When you feel them, immediately put something positive in their place. See if that helps a bit until you can get in to see someone. Reach out to friends and family, tell them how you are feeling and that you are serious. Take care.
