whats the best product to use to get a messy hairstyle? how do you get it (what i mean is do i put it in wet hair or dry, how much product?) i have tried a bunch of products but nothing has been working. it doesn't get the messy look i am going for. i don't want my hair to have that wet look or get that hard feel to it.

I'm assuming you mean the messy look, i.e. Brad Pitt in Fight Club. The best product for the messy look is "hair glue". Since you don't want the hard feel, use Fiber by American Crew (about a nickel size amount is enough for your entire head). The best conditions for your hair to use either of those products is after you shower and towel dry it.

Put a little bit in your hands, rub your hands together to warm it up and start rubbing your head from the back. Don't start in the front.

dry your hair completely,then try a matte finish product like Ice Molder or Fiber

When you gt out of the shower,comb it then just mess it up. then let it air-dry
