We used to give our dogs chocolate in the past. They lived to b 16 and 18 years old. Although, the vet said that choc is toxic to animals. We no longer feed it to our dogs just in case!

for a dog it depends on his/her weight how much chocolate they can handle. but yes, there is an ingredient in chocolate that can kill dogs. i honestly don't know if the same goes for cats.

yes, it will. my teacher had one, and it ate a box of chocolates while he was out. it was dying when he got back home. luckily, he got it to the vet just in time, but any later, it would have been dead. NEVER feed a pet chocolate

Not sure if this is an old wives tale. My dog has inhaled a few Easter Rabbits in his lifetime and has survived. Not sure about cats.

yes it can! Chocolate for pets is dangerous--it causes the heart rate to increase to a point that the animal can have a heart attack
