go to the drug store and check out all the different products. I don't suffer from them myself but I read once that taking the herb lysine which can be found in health food stores and drug stores, PREVENTS them from occurring.

You can't not fast. A cold sore has to go through five stages before it finally dries up and goes back into the nerves system, where it waits for next time.
You can use Carmex, a lip Balm with a medication in it to ease to pain but you can't rush it.

Rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide. Dilute it with an equal amount of water. It took care of mine in a few days. It may be more difficult and less effective if the cold sore is outside of your mouth, but they sell Abreva for that.

Abreva works great, most effective when applied as soon as you find out you got a cold sore.

Zoverax is the best for getting rid of them, but I *think* you need a prescription....Not sure. I would look for it at the drug store.

If you just feel like you're getting it but it hasn't actually erupted yet hold an ice cube in a cloth directly against it for two (yes, two) hours (yes, hours) straight and it will just go away.

Try Abreva, available at your drug store. It used to be a prescription medication.
