Prostitution is a Class B misdemeanor in N.Y. I forget if the max jail sentence is 60 or 90 days for a Class B.

In NY, the focus is more that a s/he is a victim. Increasingly other interventions other than incarceration are offered. . .and the focus is shifting to going after the "john".
