a 3 year old and a 7 year old should get about 9 hours of sleep.

Well, a 3 year needs to get between 12-14 hours a sleep out of every 24-- looks like a lot right? So if the 3 year old sleeps from say 9 pm to 6am and takes a nap between 10 am and 1 pm, then there is enough sleep, so about 9 hours a night give or take.
A 7 year old needs to have 9-12 hours a sleep every 24 hours, so going to bed at 9 pm to 6 am and having a nap after school would be sufficient, so about 9 hours a night give or take.
Hope this helps.

The 3-year-old will dictate her sleeping patterns; as she will most likely still be napping throughout the day, she'll probably get anywhere from 7-10 hours a night.

An active, healthy 7-year-old should get at least 10 hours a night on schoolnights, and at least 7 hours on weekend nights.

I would say 9 to 10 hours for both children, but the 3 year old should still be taking a nap as well.

The ideal amount of sleep for children under 10 is 10 hrs a night. 3 year olds usually take 1-2 hr naps still each day and my pediatrician told me that as long as they get at least 10 hours of sleep during a 24 hour period that should be fine. My kids rarely got more than 8 1/2 hrs of sleep each night and again, my pediatrician told me that as long as they made up for that time during the day through naps it was fine. Now that my oldest isn't napping during the day and is more active since he's in school, he's getting his time in through 10 hrs of continous sleep each night.

My childrens consistently went to mattress at 7:00 - my 7 year previous twins nevertheless do - My 10 year previous now could be allowed to stay wide awake till 8:00. The early bedtime replaced into the terrific factor I ever did - now that they are in school they arise early without issues!! I also have a guideline approximately your son - why no longer purchase him a clock to put in his room and tell him that as quickly as he gets up he has to do something quietly in his room till like 8:00 (or despite time is stable for you). you need to purchase him those look and locate books - they save childrens busy for hours - or perhaps a gameboy and tell him he can play however the quantity must be grew to become off.
