How does On Star work when it comes to giving you directions to designations?

Is it a live operator? Does it give directions as you drive? Can you play music while it is activated? Is it effective? I presently have OnStar and am considering activating the navagational feature.

it uses a gps singel to plot where you are and where do you want to go. you plug in your ending piont and it plots it. you can play music. it is a good feature. if you dont like it you can cancel it
