It depends on the type of cancer, stage, doctors preference and more.
Typically it is done via IV where it goes directly into the bloodstream (idea being it goes everywhere), however this doesn't always work as strongly as directly where the cancer is (i.e. Ovarian Cancer patients problems typically happen in the abdomen, and many doctors are going back to IP administartion of chemo directly into the abdominal cavity via a catheter.)
There are also treatments where they heat up the chemo to about 115 degrees and rotate it in and out of the area. The idea being is the heat will kill cancer cells and the direct infusion to the area affected will greatly 'coat' the cancer compared to going through the IV where the dose is not as concentrated.
IV is, however, the most common route used for chemo infusion.

In a challenge such by using fact the single you describe (and the form of maximum cancers), the point of chemotherapy could routinely be to alleviate symptoms. If a affected person won't make the main of chemotherapy, yet merely go through adverse consequences, it is not presented. with out understanding the small print, that's complicated to wager with regard to the point of surgical treatment on your mates case. So i'll furnish you an occasion. A bowel maximum cancers could from time to time reason severe narrowing inflicting severe soreness/soreness. In any such challenge, a resection of the main cancers can provide symptomatic relief even with the undeniable fact that it would not treatment the affected person.

Chemotherapy is given through drip. The duration of the drip depends on your disease and the protocol. I had a hodgkin disease and my chemotherapy was for about 6 hours duration on a fortnight basis for 6 months. The side effects of the chemo are painful, but once the treatment is over you just forget about it , as a nightmare! Good luck

First Doctors prescribe chemotherapy, but nurses administer it in most cases...Chemotherapy comes in pill form, given through an intravenous line, can be implanted like in the brain or uterus, and can be given via a catheter into the abdomen. This is the usual interpretation of chemotherapy. Drugs to fight cancer. In fact all medication is chemotherapy with the exception of herbs and minerals........

usually i.v. (some can be had in tablet form but 90% of chemo is iv, it's unpleasant and it takes time), nurses usually hook up the patient, not the doctor, these are nurses specifically trained in oncology departments in hospital.

God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Jesus is waiting to welcome us to Heaven. Devil is waiting to torture us in Hell. Make a good choice for yourself whom to follow. Jesus loves us and died to save us humans. And whoever believes in Him will be saved. Best wishes! (Please visit: www.spiritlessons.com)
