It sure looks that way when you read Laviticus 27 thru Numbers 18.
He and his brother's family collected food, and cereal offerings, and even monetary fines for "sins",and also "ransome" for property and people.
He claimed that "God" allowed his family,(the "Priests") to share these things w/ God.

FUN KID62--Didn't he kind of stack the deck for himself by claiming he spoke for God?
Would any person dare to dissrespect him?
God was in one of his "smiting" moods back then.

Don't you think your "merciful, loving, all-knowing god could have figured out a more humane way to stop those soldiers, who were sons, brothers, and fathers.Did he not care about their mothers, or children?

Gary--Thanks for warning me about the hate-filled power of your "merciful, loving" god.

Moses was smart enough not to put his immediate family in charge. It would be too obvious that he was lying about what"God commanded"

Jewish girl---They didn't need any "territories", they were in charge of "the command Tent" where all the offerings were made, and no others were allowed to go" lest they be killed".
That is what Moses claims "God commanded"---Of course everyone had to take his word for that.

well, they were the only israelite tribe who weren't allowed to have any land, so in return they were provided for by the people.
"Jewish gir---"provided for", you make it sound voluntary.
Moses claimed God commanded it."
yes. it was G-d who did not allow them to have a territory, probably to prevent them from becoming too rich, and it was G-d who commanded they be given other things in return.
"How could they own land? They were wandering in the desert."
its obvious you have never actually read the bible if you don't know the answer to this question. the easiest way not to look ignorant is to actually do a bit of reading before asking a question. in the bible, WHILE the hebrews were wandering in the desert, G-d told them exactly what to do when they arrived in the promised land. he outlined the territories that would be given to each tribe. the levites (the priestly tribe) did not get a territory because as G-d said several times, "the Lord is their portion." i'd get scriptural references for you, but to be honest i don't really have the motivation to look it up.

Yeah, he caused the ground to open up and swallow all those folks that decided they'd be better leaders.
Moses sure did have 'em fooled with that trick.
Num 16:31-33
And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

well considering that his brothers kids not his own were give the status of priests and all members of his tribe were not given a section of territory it seems like a fair deal.

no way in judaism there are classes of people some get some things and others get other things . nobody resents each other for what they get. moses was very respected and to even insinuate that anyone resented him is wrong
