Science Diet is the most expensive of the poor quality cat foods. You can do much better by your cat and for less or the same amount of money by using Solid Gold, Natural Balance or Blue. For a little more money. like 10 cents more a bag you can get Felidae. For 30 cents more you can get CA Natural. For 50 cents more you can get foods with duck as the primary source of protein, Eagle Pack or Nature's Logic.
That's the price differential. You cannot compare the quality from SD to any of those foods. Science Diet uses by-product meat, and it is 2/3 corn. A very inferior diet for a cat.

Although Science Diet considered a quality cat food was suprised some time ago that it contains BYPRODUCTS-the junk part of the animal ,beak, feet, inrestines and so orth that are ground up as a meal and when it says chicken byproducts thats actually what it is. Cats are Carniverous and need real meat in their diet. Stopped using Science Diet for that reason and began using NUTRO which is found in the same Petfood stores as Science Diet NUT gives the cat much better nutrition-no byproducts but real meat.I have been giving he NUTRO TOTAL CARE for years-she is 17+ and is still spry, jumps and runs around and always ready to play.Has also had no health problems and teeth are perfect shape-gets the Dry Food for it cleans the teeth. Here and there she'll get small serving of Chicken or Salmon-but not too often for animals actually do better not having people food.Nutro also makes various treats that cats love. The Price is comparable to Science Diet and I would feed my cat nothing else. Main 2 ways to ensure a long and healthy life for a cat is superior total nutrition and the least amount of stress. Switch to NUTRO -your cat will love you for it.

Science Diet, IAMS, Purina Cat Chow, Whiskas, Friskies are not good quality foods. They contain way to much corn and by products. There is much better foods out there.Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, Felidae are just two of the reasonable priced good quality brands.
When looking for a food you need to remember that cats are carnivores..in otherwords meat eaters not grain eaters. They can't process nutrition from grains like they can from meats. They need meat protein. You need to look for foods taht contain meats as at least the first 2 ingredients and don't contain corn, wheat or beet pulp. The more grains in a food the more poop produced and they more you will need ot feed in order for the cat to obtain proper nutrition.

We used Wiskas because it was cheap. I got a bag of Iams from a friend, and our old (15 yrs) cat had such a change in behavior, she was more playful, acted less painful when we pet her, and when she walked or climbed. She's never been a demonstrative cat, but she almost sits on our lap now. I used to think that cat food was cat food, but I now think for over all health, you really need a good quality food. All I can say is read read read and talk with your vet.

Blue Buffalo is the best for cats its expensive and you shouldn't feed your cat just canned cat food its not good for it and could be what is causing the diarrhea by eating hard food the cat is able to clean tarter off its teeth so that it is less likely to loose teeth in its old age and it will keep its over all health better

Chicken. Best that there is and doesn't cost much.
If you insist on feeding kibble I'd suggest Wysong or Royal Canin.
Look up info on "the truth about pet food" or "What's really in pet food"

Your dinner leftover is the best. Quit spoiling your house pets when 30% of the people in this world starve.
