No, they should act in such a way that others would want to know God. Don't blame a church or God on your sister's behavior. Sounds like she's not listening to either one.

Jesus has made a statement that if his followers have love for one another then people around them will know they are Jesus' disciples and that will lead people to Jesus. Well, perhaps another way is to be Christlike. Matthew 5 has such verses made by Jesus and recorded by Matthew that his followers should be the salt and light of the world so that people can notice the uniqueness of his disciples and would come to follow Jesus. As you are aware, none of the Christians can live up to be Christlike. The difference is the Christians are following the guidelines that Jesus shows. They are only to obey his words and do everything possible to be Christlike and the rest leave to God or the Holy Spirit. If any Christian has not shown you that he should be the kind of Christian, that is his responsibility to God. He would get his rightful reward or rebuke from God. But the message that is given, none can deny or reject. That message is the life, the truth and the way. Don't miss it even though all the Christians disappoint you. Look around to see which other way that can ensure you a hopeful future. There are a lot of testimonies to help you to learn Christianity from others if the one close to you fail to do so. God bless you.

No, I wouldn't. A perfect example is my cousin's school. Nearly everyone there has had some sexual encounter - understandable, it is High-school. The catch - it's supposed to be a Christian School. I still understand that these days sex is a part of high school, however, I think there is a problem if Girl A and Girl B had sex with Boy 1 in the same week - times 10. It would be no different from a public school except that this problem is 100 times worse because of the size. This is not Christian behavior.
I have met my cousin's school friends, and apart from mauling their boyfriends on the dance floor, the cuss words would make a seasoned sailor blush. No. I would want no part of them, their faith, and certainly not their church. If they want to win people over to Christ they are going about it the wrong way.

You are looking at your sister for guidance in the Christian faith, when you should look to Jesus. Follow His example and live Christ-like and perhaps you may help her. Not every Christian is a saint, some are a working in progress, but He who has begun a good work in her will complete it. Meaning, if you really accept Christ and swear like a trooper, sooner or later He will straighten you out. Better to learn quick from God.

People should act as good witnesses of Christ. But life is not easy and the Bible teaches forgiveness. Christians aren't perfect. Hopefully the members of her church act better and will rub off on her. Sorry you are having a bad experience! Please don't let it turn you away from all Churches. Try praying for her and encouraging her good actions.

Unfortunately, a lot of people who claim a religion don't follow it and aren't the best ambassadors for their faith. Since xtianity is the predominant religion in the US, you're going to notice their poor behavior even more than you would notice the poor behavior of, say, an Asatruar. You probably have never even met an Asatruar except online, but the lady in line in front of you at the supermarket blowing a hissy and cussing at the clerk would most likely openly identify herself as a xtian.
Ironic, no?

I , as a Christian, am supposed to act in such a way to lead others to Heaven.. I don't care what "religion" they are or if they are blue, pink yellow or orange..it doesn't matter. Them going to Heaven does...Churches are BUILDINGS where people meet.. I could care less who goes to church where as long as they will be in Heaven with me

There are all kinds of 'christians' just like her. Kinda disheartening, in the least.
In a way,...she does represent where she worships...then again, you can't judge a church by just one member.
She needs to be re-schooled on who/what a true christian is.
Allot of folks do.
Tell her to lay off of your kid. That would be the first schooling that she needing to go through.

Tell your sister to read the little book of James. Especially James 1:26 - If anyone among you seems to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, he deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.
Christianity only works if you do.

I think as christians, we should all give a good example. for that very reason!! we DO want people to come to the Lord, and come to church, but we are only human, and we DO make mistakes.
