They cannot deal with the reality of the homeless and poor people, however most of them can discriminate against many groups including gays. It is a know fact that people have difficulty with accepting reality, the homeless and poor. However, they have no problem talking about minorities, gays or other groups. (Discrimination) You are right the word does speak of the poor and it shares that those who are poor will have a higher place in God's house. It also shares that we should help the poor and we shall be remember for that. However we have to remember that many people are of greed and damnation, so they will not see as they should see.

Jesus also says:There will always be poor. His message was more about the poor helping each other-sermon on the mount.
Also the story of the good sumaritan is about a poor undesirable helping a wealthy man.
So maybe you should reread the Bible before you asked others too.
But you are right. The Bible says little to nothing about Homosexuality in it's grand scheme. Not even that that is why God destroyed Sodom (Inhospitality).
JESUS never once comments on it directly. Only 100s or years later do people writing letters about the Bible comment on it in the later books. It isn't in the Gospels which are the closest we have to Jesus's actual words/

I don't need to check it out, I have already checked it out. It reminds a lot of what Mahatma Gandhi said "I like your Christ, it is your christians I do not like. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Very few inferences to homosexuality in the Bible. In leviticus where it spells out rabbinical law, which is void due to the new testament, right? And in Romans it is ascribed again as a trait to avoid, as the evil Romans took part in it. But beyond that there is way more talk of helping the poor, and civic action, rather then condemnation. And remember, Jesus always saves at Fred Meyer's.

Because gays get on this site and ask questions and I am not your follower. The poor is helped a great deal by the Church, if you want to talk about the poor than ask a question.

It's easier to react than to act. Homosexuality is right there and easy to attack--poverty is "distant" to most people and takes getting out of the comfort zone.

Homosexuality is A sin, not THE sin. I wish people would realize this. Its probably because they are involved in most of the other sins and want to pick on homosexuals to make themselves feel more secure.
