It all depends on how its done.
if you drill into kids there is only one way to think and that they will be bad for thinking anything else. This is akin to physiological child abuse.
If you offer kids a spiritual path but encourage them to search and explore on there own you are fostering development and thinking. You can even give it from the stance that your positon is correct as long as you encourage them to question and explore.

I believe a young EXPERIENCE (not religion) with God is a very good thing for any young person. It will remain with them during the hard times later in life and often becomes a strengthening element for them.
The idea that 7 year olds don't know is only a idea. I've witnessed some amazing things by young children. And, if their not promoting righteousness, then they'll be promoting wrong things that helps to kill, steal, and destroy. I say LEAVE THE YOUNG KIDS ALONE and support them. They can't hurt you and they are harmless! Hope this helps. PEACE!!!

Sad. As are catholic schools, and no doubt other religious schools. All education should be secular I think, as children are so vulnerable to brainwashing, particularly when their parents are part of the package.
I went to one of these catholic concent schools and we were preached at incessently by nuns from 5 years old. These nuns even made the class make a show of hands over who was going to be a nun when they grew up. If you didn't raise your hand you were subject to all sorts of interogation as to why not.
Oh yes. Sad. religious coersion is very sad.

In the Bible it says "Out of the mouths of babes." meaning that babies will become evangelicals and confound all the sceptics. I'm a sceptic and I yearn to be confounded.

Even a little kid can tell his friends that Jesus loves them. Nothing wrong with that. Even a catholic kid could do that. Though he probably couldn't tell them where to find it in the Bible.

I think the parents should be charged with child abuse. Sunday School is one thing, but this is another.

I find that disturbing. I would also find it disturbing if they were preaching anything else, including atheism. 7 year olds have no idea what they're talking about.
