If you're a true Christian I believe nothing should really offend you.
You should have the strength and faith to deal with anything. The people that are so easily offended by everything are in no way Christians in my book. You can't go around condemning people because they are different from you. You try to love and be understanding of all people no matter what their beliefs are. You don't have to condone or agree with them, just try to get along with them and understand their side of things.

You'd be surprised how many people will become friends if you just take the time to sit down and talk about it and not judge each other.

It shouldn't matter what people call any day just call it what you want and let everyone else call it what they want.

There is only one thing about Christmas I do not agree with in the working world. People that do not believe in Christmas buy gifts for friend and loved ones just like we do and expect to get time off work just like we do. I think only people that celebrate the holiday for what it was intended to be should get time off and we can call it whatever we like.

Those that practice atheism or any other deity if any, should have their own holiday and do what they like as well. Just leave Christmas alone if you don't believe in it........Ok that's my 2 cents.

What offends me as a Christian is the fact that you that do not believe in Jesus and His Word will take the time off from your jobs to just get a day off from work .. Christmas is a word that represents a celebration of the birth of Jesus , xmas does not ! Happy Holiday , If you`re not a Christian you shouldn`t be celebrating anything , as there is no holiday for you !! A stamp is just a man made item and can be opinionated just like any other item . Since the government and all non believers want God out of the work places , schools , and public places , then the employees of these establishments should not be given time off at Christmas , Easter , or any other Christian celebration of our Faith !! They don`t recognize the existence of God or His Teachings , therefore should not be forced to take a day off for a day of celebration that they don`t recognize or believe in ???? I for one as a Christian will certainly not be offended by you working on my day off for my Day of Celebration of the birth of my Savior Jesus Christ !!

Xmas is not offensive; The X is a traditional representation of a cross, which is a symbol of Christ.
So this is an acceptable shortened form of Christmas.

Luke 7:22 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. 23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

I try not to take offense...especially about little things that do not matter. I think God wants us to love one another...and leave the judgement of things up to Him. He knows people's hearts and motives...I am just one of His kids passing through trying to do the best I can each day to love and serve Him and love all His other kids.

None of them offend me. Happy holidays simply encompasses the yule, solstice, hanukkah, kwanzaa and christmas. I have no problem with sending greetings to any and all. God intended us to be tolerant of one another, even when a faith is different. And those who have read the bible know Jesus was not born on Dec. 25th anyway.

One can only be personally offended if they choose to be. I take no offense personally as a Christian, because of the ignorance of man. As Jesus said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

God bless,

Sue

Did Jesus or his Apostles follow a religion called Christianity? Who were the first 'Christians' ? Who founded Christianity and do the teachings of Christianity conform to the teachings of Jesus?

The teachings of Paul, the true founder of Christianity, cannot be found anywhere in the teachings of Jesus or in those of prophets before him.
