check out your local social services and also some hospitals have charity services where if someone is unable to pay their medical bills they, more often than not, will cover them.

In the first place she didn't have diarrhea for a year, she'd be dead.
She should be able to file for either early retirement through Social Security Insurance and get there help, go through Medicaid.
If she's in the the hospital go to the administration office and tell them what you told us, ask them for the numbers of the Social Security offices and the Medicaid offices. They should give you all the help you need.

She is eligible for Medicare?? Look into that.
