Chevy is usually much cheaper, parts are cheaper, easiler to work on and many more of them around. Expedition though is strong vehicle, but more expensive to buy and fix. Tahoe uses Chevrolet truck parts just as the Expedition used Ford Truck parts. Chevy parts are much more available and cheap overall and that is my preference. Also "real world" mileage should be much better with the Chevy. Expedition though can tow a lot and is the same dependability as a Ford full size truck. Just your call.

2007 Has started as a good year for both...

Tahoe LTZ has the best track record of the 2 but is not the best deal.... Starting out at 45,000 dollars

http://www.chevrolet.com/tahoe/

I do like the 5.3 engine is built for the long haul. And is the heart of the Chevy truck line up.
And if you decide on the LTZ see if you can get the new Locker rear end... Doesn't show up on the option list yet. And is alot better than the Limited slip rear gear on the regular 4 x 4

Value is another story,,, you can get a Ford Expedition EL for 5000 to 6800 less than the LTZ if you can make the deal...

The only things people have complained about is the window switches and towing some people forget to turn the over drive off when towing heavyer items... Causing trans switch problems.

Since I'm into the best deal I would go for the Ford. Wanting the Chevy...

Good Luck shopping... Take the Test drive see where each blind spot is on them... Feel the power of each..

They have their strengths and weaknesses, but overall I'd give preference to the Tahoe. GM parts are much more plentiful, GM transmissions are more durable, and the Tahoe has slightly better handling than the Expedition. Also, for whatever reason, GM vehicles seem to get slightly better gas mileage than their Ford counterparts.

That being said, you can often work out a better deal on an Expedition due to the abovementioned factors. A final thought: our local police department has both vehicles in their fleet, and the Tahoes are the ones every officer wants to drive. The Expeditions are considered "OK", but not as desirable.

The Ford Expedition has a third row that folds down. The Chevy Tahoe doesn't around here people are stealing the seats out of peoples driveways. I would go with the Ford just for the convenience of not having to drag the third row out to haul something.

Hard question to get a straight answer on. Everyone has a preference to Chevy, Ford, Honda, Toyota, ect. But id go with the tahoe because of Gm dependability.

Well, Chevys (GM in general) are plagued with wiring problems. Lighting, especially.
The Ford has more room and is a better built vehicle.
Both have good engines. The Ford 5.4L pulls better than the 5.3L Chevy. Torque is what moves weight around, not horsepower.

With today's technology just pick the one that feels best to you. The Tahoe will keep it's value a little longer, but you will probably make a better deal on the Ford. You will be very satisfied with either one.. Good luck.

Chevy Tahoe. do some research, you will find out the Tahoe, is the better vehicle. Especially in dependability.

They are both good but gm's just seem to get better gas mileage and have fewer repairs over there life span. But it also is a personnel preference maybe you like the looks of the other. Just get ride of it when it starts giving problems.

Neither. Go with a dodge durango, great trucks. If not, Go with a toyota, better resale and dependability than ford or chevy.
