The best name can not be found in a book. Nor in a website nor anywhere! The best name you can possibly give your dog depends on his personality. I also read an article in a magazine about dog names. Something they said makes a great name is a oppisite of your dog. Is he small? Name him Giant. Hates the ladies? Love master! Doesn't chew a thing in the world? Chomper! The perfect name will pick your dog. Let your dog decide what he is going to be named.
Happy Holidays :-]
P.S Santa is a good name at this time of year!

Hmm.. I'm not sure if this is a good name for a mini Dachshund but I had a neighbor once that had a Rott named Zeus.. I thought it was fitting and a very 'manly' dog name..

I have two mini dachshunds named Chili and Pepper but my favorite name for weiner dogs is 'Oscar.' My first dachshund was named Oscar Mayer Weiner. Clever, isn't it? Good luck with the name process, it's a lot of fun.

I once had a really cute dog named Heiny. After Heinekin. I don't drink but I thought it was super cute to call the dog Heiny. :)
Good luck, I love coming up with cool names. Even though my dogs don't have cool names, they fit. So I guess you really have to see the dog's personality. There are a ton of cool sites that give you name suggestions. just go to google and type "cool dog names". My italian greyhound got his name from a website that had cool italian names for dogs. His name is Theo (short for Theopholis)...I think that is how you spell it :)

I personally like the name Bear for a dog =P
But then again, the dog's name doesn't matter whether it's cool or not, and won't make it any more loveable than it already is. <3
