Well... at three years old, you waited toooooo long!!!! All you can do now is take it away. Yes he will cry, but he will come to terms with it. And sippy cups will also be a hard habit to break. Just go straight to cups!! I have a child who will be five in a couple of weeks, and this is what I did with him, and what I will do with my four month old...
No pacifiers at all!!!! Hopefully if you did use one, that is long gone...
At the 1st birthday, no more bottle!!! Only regular cups!!!
Put a little Strawberry quik in the milk to make it more enticing.
At the 2nd birthday, start potty training. Try to have him potty trained by the 3rd bday.
Make every birthday a milestone.
I know it works because I have done it so good luck!!!!

ok this sounds a twin of my son. he's 3 particularly a lot 4 and that i'd say it really is been because that may that he has had a bottle. He didn't wish some thing to do with sippys eiether. His rfile., and also you need to call my mom to be sure, advised me at his 3 12 months examine up see you later as he became in common words taking his bottle at evening no longer to rigidity about. continually grant him the sippy cup too yet when he selections the bottle oh nicely. He faster or later will opt for the cup over the bottle. nicely shortly after my son grew to grow to be 3 I had had sufficient of each and each and every of the teasing by realitives so I by each and each and every of the bottles away. the first evening became tuff even with the undeniable fact that it really is been tender crusing because that. only remember that once he's in a position to grant in he will. only make confident you're cleansing his tooth and at one he should be seeing a dentist too.

This is what I did. I threw away every bottle in the house. She cried and cried for it but when she realized that the sippy cup was the only way she was going to be able to drink then she quit crying for the bottle and took to the sippy cup. Same thing goes with her pacifier. I just threw it away and she eventually quit crying for it. Some people may think that's wrong but it worked and she's older now and has no mental scaring. Good Luck!

Here is a fun and easier way: take a little basket and put a trash bag in it and have your 3 yr old take all the bottle and throw them in, tell them that there is anothere baby that needs bottles and that he/she is such a big girl/boy that they dont need them. If they throw it away then you can say later when they ask for it remember how good you were and gave them away?/ worked with my 2 yr old! Good luck by the way dont give in or leave them in plain sight

Do it cold turkey... It's painful for you and the child, but it's the only way. The withdrawal lasts for about 4-5 days. My daughter was 3 1/2 and it was time, I know how you feel.

The word is ween and the only way to do it is to stop giving him the bottle. Surely he is eating regular food by now.

my suggestion would be to discard all of the bottles asap!!Believe me it will be hard,I know..it is the best thing for your son..you should let him see you drinking from a sippy cup.. encourage him by letting him know these are what big boys use!
