Is it ok to feed a 15 week old chihuahua puppy, Royal Canin Chihuahua 28, or is it still too young? I think I read on the bag that they have to be 6 or8 months old before you should start them on this, unless I misunderstood.

You should wait until they're at least 6 months old before you take them off puppy food. Royal Canin isn't really that great quality either. Try to find something more holistic with no corn, wheat, by-products, or soy.

You should still be feeding it the Royal Canin puppy food. This is designed for little teeth and puppy digestions. What it says on the pack is correct.

I feed my cats and foster kittens on Royal Canin and all the different types (for dogs and cats) are specially designed for different needs.

Go by what the bag says. Puppies have different nutritional needs than an adult dog. If you insist on feeding adult food to the puppy add 1 tablespoon of full fat plain yogurt to 2 of its daily feedings. At 15 weeks you should be feeding the puppy at least 4x per day.

Why would you even ask that? If the label on the package says "Feed at 6-8months+" then you feed the food at 6-8months+.

You didn't misunderstand.
At 15 weeks, your puppy is only roughly 3 months old.

I have a tea-cup chihuahua and when i got her i start her on puppy food that is soft and it did not make her sick. I would try it and see just give it a little at first to see how it does.

I would give it a small amount, and as long as the puppy can tolerate the food, it's okay to continue. As with any food change, start with small amounts and gradually build up. Any sudden change will make any pet, puppy or dog, ill.

almost all kibble dog food is crap
truly
I know it's easier...but as for your question
puppies need a smaller food and more nutrients specifically protein

keep that in mind and your pup will do fine
most our dogs eat better than humans
nutritionally speaking
