I have a whole chicken and would like to cook it. I have looked on the foodnetwork website but everything on there asks for ingredients that I have a hard time finding. Does anyone have any good recipes?

Beer Can Chicken BBQ Recipe

Here’s a technique that delivers great-tasting chicken and makes a lively conversation starter as well. We’ve used one of our special rubs, but you can sub in 2 to 3 tablespoons of your favorite one. Bottoms up!

For the rub:

1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon granulated onion
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 whole chicken, 4 to 5 pounds
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 can (16 ounces) beer (tall boy)

To make the rub: In a small bowl combine the rub ingredients.

Remove and discard the neck, giblets, and any excess fat from the chicken. Rinse the chicken, inside and out, under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Lightly spray or brush all over with the vegetable oil and season, inside and out, with the rub.

Open the beer can and pour off half of the beer. Set the half-full can on a flat surface and slide the chicken over the top so the can fits inside the cavity. Transfer the bird to the grill, keeping the can upright. Carefully balance the bird on its two legs and the can. Grill over Indirect Medium heat until the juices run clear and the internal temperature reaches 170°F in the breast and 180°F in the thickest part of the thigh, 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours. Wearing barbecue mitts, carefully remove the chicken and the can from the grill, being careful not to spill the beer – it will be hot. Let the chicken rest for about 10 minutes before lifting it from the can. Discard the beer. Cut the chicken into serving pieces. Serve warm.

What you need for this roast chicken: olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary (dried or fresh, you can also use thyme), a lemon, a garlic bulb, potatoes.

Preheat your oven to 350.

First wash the chicken, then rub down the skin with salt. Take 2 tablespoons of olive oil and put it in a bowl, then mix in some salt, pepper, chopped garlic cloves (about 3) and sprigs of rosemary. Take a pastry brush or with your fingers rub the mixture into the chicken skin.

Meanwhile, parboil some chopped and peeled potatoes and put a lemon in with the potatoes. After about 12 minutes, take the lemon out and stab it a few times and stuff it into the chicken's cavity, and put some crushed garlic cloves in there as well. Put the chicken into a roasting pan and put the potatoes on the side - pour some olive oil over the potatoes and sprinkle with salt and pepper. You can put a few bay leaves in between or some more rosemary sprinkled over the potatoes.

Then put it in the oven for about an hour, until it gets golden brown :)

put it in a pan with carrots onions and potatoes cut up in big pieces. put the chicken on its side and flip it 180 after 20 minutes or so, then flip it normal. put some spices in there. Rosemary is good, thyme is good too.

check the sodium of the chicken, if it has 60 or 70 milligrams, add salt, if it has 360 or so the chicken people added more than you need.

oh yeah and stir the veggies when you flip the chicken. Flipping is supposed to keep the breasts moister.

You can season it with salt and garlic salt and then rub some honey on it all over.Place it in a lined foil that was sprayed with cooking spray, or you can butter the pan all around. cover the pan with foil and cook for 1 hr. at 350 degrees in the oven. the last 10 Mins or so uncover to let brown,, umm delicious..
or you can do the same way, leave out the honey and put barbecue sauce instead..Only you have to put more barbecue sauce at about 35 mins into the cooking..That with sweet potatoes, and sweet corn..getting me hungry..
