To myself, they tone the muscles. You not be a big muscle dude. They just keep everything cool. I work in a physical work, construction and mechanics. Long story, I work for myself. This keeps me in shape. But, it not always exercise all muscles, so, the dumbbells just keep the slate even, if, you understand. But, anytime you exercise, you need the calorie intake to supply the energy your body needs. I can eat a good plate of food, wait, 30-60 minutes and exercise and be hungry afterward.

Yes, it makes a difference. You're hitting the muscle in a slightly different way. For example, take Side Lateral exercise. When you are doing it standing, you can cheat by using your legs to help generate momentum. You can't do that sitting. In terms of growth for a female. It won't matter very much. Women don't generate testerone like a man so getting a body builder's type phsyique would be very very hard. Not impossible but unless bodybuilding is your career, it would be almost impossible.

they can make you smaller however, if you havnt finished growing (until 21) it may affect your growth if you lift them too much, as your muscle would be growing faster than your bones, which may cause problems my advice:if you do it b4 21, keep it in moderation
