I need historical, religious, and literature examples that prove Emerson's qoute that "to be great is to be misunderstood."
I already have Budha, who was misunderstood for his beliefs, and Jesus Christ, Abraham Lincoln, and Galileo. But i need more, and I can't think of any.

Margaret Sanger. This remarkable woman did more for the rights of women than any other person, in my opinion. She helped start Planned Parenthood. She did not want to be barefoot and pregnant year after year. She was inprisoned for her views and she managed to prevail. Every woman alive now owes a great deal to this revolutionary woman.
