People were more open minded back in Biblical times compared to today?

Think of the Prophets and their ability to have people follow them. Those people had to be very open minded don't you think. If someone tried that today, people would laugh or scoff at them and call them crazy.
It's my understanding that we only use a small percentage of our brains. It's also my understanding that if we stop using a certain brain function that connection in the brain that allows us that fuction becomes cut-off. That fuction can be rewired once we require it again. So, maby throughout the last 2000 years we have slowly lost what fuctions were there in the first place and have become in a sence close minded.

With me or against me...... you have to think about it.

I am with you.

People living in Biblical times were more open minded because living back in that time, there was allot less things to distract them. We today have allot more things that keep our minds occupied. We also have allot more to think about and consider that back then. Of course we only use a small portion of our brains. The more we think and exercise our brains, (such as looking up Yahoo answers we want to seriously answer), help to keep our brain functions going along well. I don't know the science of the studying of the brain. I do know from experience that the more we think, the better we do when it comes to solving problems and making decisions. I try my best everyday to think about things that concern me and also my family. Good question you asked!

Actually, we use all of our brain. The ten percent brain myth..or sometimes people will use other small percentages to make it seem more believeable, "2-4%, 8%, 9% etc." These are all lies, in fact. Type in "10% of your brain" on Google.com, and you'll find many sites disproving this theory. It's a myth that's become widely accepted. I'll even list some sources.

Just the opposite. People were much less educated in those times so they didn't know any better. In these modern well educated times no one could possible fall for and follow a false prophet.

No. Most were just as closeminded. (most of the world believed it was flat for centuries even when logic and evidence -and even scripture- said otherwise).
The increasing of knowledge and technologie in the past decades has only contributed to the variety of closemindedness.

I don't agree with you. If you are talking about biblical times you are talking about women being stoned to death for adultery, children working from dawn to dusk, absolute power in the hands of rich landowners, belief that diseases were a form of punishment, extremely rigid religious codes, public executions etc. etc. etc.
As for the prophets, most of them were wailing doom forcasters.

And we despise relativism.
