No, they should not. Also, some supporters claim that those anchors do not get benefits! That is a crock of BS. They can, their parents can't. So, essentially they are entitled to get WIC and MEDICAID because their illegal parents dropped anchor in the good 'ole USA.

No. anchor babies should not be allowed access to Automatic American citizenship, but I also think welfare benefits only go towards Americans that are adults and lived in the Untied States for the last 10 years. Education benefits the migrants should have access to because even a high diploma worth 10,000 more than a high school drop out. Higher Education, I belive they should recieve that benefit if they proved residency for at least 3 years. Living on the Dole, WIc those things should only be given out to people that American citizens for at least 10 years living in the Untied States. Anchor baby mother should be given care, and charged with unauthorized use of public services, and forced to pay back the bill though jail work, and then deported, and banned from entering the untied states till the medical bill is paid. We need guest workers, but I also belive they should be pretty much resricted in terms of goverment benefits. Also, we need to screen passengers overseas that are pregrannt coming to America, and those with no medical insurance during thier visit will be denied entry before they entered the Untied States, unless the countries willing to recriopcate care for Americans for healthcare treatment.

No they should not be considered citizens. AND I don't think any illegal should get any kind of aide at all !!!
How can 2 people who are illegal aliens produce an automatic citizen ?? Doesn't make sense to me. This anchor baby issue should have been dealt with back in the 80's when Reagan passed amnesty. Would save us one huge headache that is for sure.

No, absolutely not! We should get rid of the outdated "anchor baby" law immediately! The children will have the citizenship of their parents. As someone else said here, Mexico and I believe all other countries will claim that child as a citizen of the parents' country. These children will NOT become "citizens without a country." That is a bunch of hogwash! People, get the facts!

Actually they are not citizens. The 14th amendment to the Constitution has been interpreted incorrectly for so long that people take it for fact when in actuality it is not.
During Reconstruction, Senator Jacob Howard, co author of the citizenship clause of the 14th amendment, participated in debate over the first clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, arguing for including the phrase "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" specifically because he wanted to make clear that the simple accident of birth in the United States was NOT sufficient to justify citizenship. Howard said:
The 14th amendment will NOT, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the government of the United States, but will include very other class of person
Despite Senator Jacobs intention, the amendment has since been interpreted to guarantee citizenship to every person born in the United States.

No, absolutely not. If the parents are illegal, their children are illegal. If we deport the parents, do we keep the child because it is American? No, we just don't do anything, except keep working our a***s off and paying the bills. We should have the same laws in regard to Mexicans and Mexico has toward us. Zero tollarance.

NO, they should not be considered Americans, infact, the Mexico considers them to be Mexicain nationals.
Miranda M - ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS COST US WAY MORE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN. The money the employer saves by hiring illegals, does not reduce the price of the product, it is just less over head, and more money into the companies pocket. they may be working for less then min wage, but it is the tax payers that are making up the difference. The cheap labor you talk about costs us way more in the long run. You also forgot to mention about them running down our wages.

No, and under current law, they are NOT. Current law states that to be a citizen, a baby must be born to parents UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE UNITED STAES GOVERNMENT.
It is a liberal fallacy to say that any child born on American soil is automatically a citizen. Children born to foriegn diplomats, embassy employees, etc, are not citizens because their parents are under the jurisdiction of their home country. Conversely, children born to American parents on foriegn soil, say to an Air Force couple in Gemany, are American Citizens, not German.
Keep America for Americans

They should not be US citizens. Their parents aren't, they were here illegally to have a baby and get tax dollars paid by honest, legal citizens. No way is this right.
