Yes, the Bible says many silly things. It even has a talking donkey.

I'm sure you have a brain. Why not use it? I'm sure you can figure out the pros and cons of homosexuality yourself. Personally, I really don't care what they do. It's not my thing, but I'm not so arrogant as to think I have a right to dictate who people like.

you asked for it.

all chapeters from Leviticus.

19:13 13 " 'Do not defraud your neighbor or rob him.
" 'Do not hold back the wages of a hired man overnight.

so we should be paid everyday. this weekly paycheck is a sin. we must abolish it.

19:15 15 " 'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

does this apply to the catholic priests that molest altar boys?

19:19 19 " 'Keep my decrees.
" 'Do not mate different kinds of animals.
" 'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.
" 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material

have you worn a cotton-poly blends lately,,,what about any fabric with elastic bands in it?

my neighbor planted corn and potatoes in the same field,,,must i kill him?

19:27 27 " 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

had a aircut lately?

ok now i could go on at this all night. and show just how rediculous that entire chapter of Leviticus really is. your response will be that all of my examples are Parable and not to be taken literaly. however the Book seems to be very strict on keeping these edicts.

show me something beyond Levicitus that is against Homosexuality, and i will show you more things from that chapter that make no sense what so ever.

The Bible in the original languages never said it was wrong to be gay, bi or lesbian. Even Lev. 18:22 is wrong in the English Bibles. (Hint: in Hebrew, the verse contains the phrase "mishkvei ishah" which means "in a woman's bed." The translators chose to twist it to mean "as with womankind.") If you really want to know what scripture originally said about homosexuality, see the site below. It's only the translations of the last 400 years that call it a sin.

And the last time you made a ritual animal sacrifice when a child was born was... when? Don't know the rules? Check out Leviticus 12 for instructions.

Lev 12:6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

How about putting an adulterer to death like it says to do in Lev 20:10? Done any of that lately? What about killing children who are disrespectful to their parents? Have you done that? Or are you not a REAL Christian?

Lev 20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Unless you're living by ALL the rules laid out in Leviticus, your argument doesn't hold water.

Dear dumb person.
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you said "in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man a woman." I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev.21:20 states that I may ! not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

I believe that much of the Bible is the Word of God. I also believe that much of the Bible is the word of mortal man, designed to shape the behavior of society at that time.

Historically, the birthrate was low due to disease, and war.
That's why the Bible is chock full of finger-wagging about homosexuality and masturbation, because neither produces children.

And if we're going to follow the Bible to the letter, then where will we build all those quarantine tents for menstruating women, hmm?

Leviticus was largely thrown out with the old dishwater years ago. It was used in the crusades as ammunition to crush enemies (hey, they felt they needed to justify the mindless killing of thousands).

Nowadays it is kept in as a point of historical reference and is not particularly abided by. There are many other weird things it says in there, like eating seafood is an abomination too. As is wearing female clothes as a man (though granted, that's weird).

I personally prefer `let he who is without sin cast the first stone`

The Bible teaches us to have compassion and tolerance for our fellow man. I doubt seriously this person is a Christian. I dont know any Christians that feel this way. This is just an attempt to stereotype Christians in a negative light.

Most of the world thinks sexual transgressions are the worst and most condemning. Maybe they are just a handle to pin the transgressions of everyone on. "Love God with all your heart, all your mind, and all your might" is the greatest commandment which nobody does, and nobody gets condemned for that. If a person is straight, does that mean he has kept the whole law? Maybe people who are trying to follow the law shouldn't throw stones because they also are lawbreakers.

Leviticus 15 verse 19 says that women are to be kept separate for seven days during their period. I don't know too many people Christian or otherwise who make their wives live separate from them for one week each month. There are many many things in Leviticus that Christians don't follow (how many of you sacrifice doves these days?) so I don't know why Christians harp on this particular verse so much.

edit: Thanks for the giggle Hayden
