Well, Im not exactly so sure about the normalness of the pain you feel, but I got spacers today (12.13.06) and they feel fine. At first I was a little nervous about it because my friend said they would hurt so badly, and so did others on the internet but after I got them, no pain, but Huge GAIN!!! Im not sure about the pain you feel, because I feel none, but you should call your doctor and have them schedule you a appointment ASAP, because it might be something going on with your teeth, or maybe your teeth were so tight that it hurts while they are moving, try giving it another day, and then see what happens. Same pain call Doctor!!

Totally normal. You will feel better in a few days. I had spacers as did two of my kids. It's tough now, but it will be worth it in the end. Hang in there! Make sure to take tylenol or motrin (I prefer) every 4-6 hrs. Do not take more than prescribed, though!

It's normal, unfortunately! I lost quite a bit of weight when I first got braces. You'll adjust, just take Tylenol like you have been and in a few days you'll be fine.
Eat lots of soup and soft stuff for now!
Good luck, your smile will thank you for sticking out the pain :)

I hate spacers! I'm so sorry you have to have them. Ya the pain is normal unfortunately. The pain will go away in a few days, but you just to suck on foods and eat mush until then.

Amen sister!!! I have them too and they hurt like the dickens when you first get them. I've had mine for about a year and trust me, pain is normal. They hurt really bad for the first few weeks but to stop the pain ask your orthodontist about this numing gel stuff. You put it in your mouth all over and it nums it all in a bout 5 min. then you can eat without pain!!! It hurt me to even eat Jell-O. lol. well let me know how they go. bubye

Poor child...a young friend of mine got those. He hates them of course. I don't know how anyone can put up with the spacers and later braces.

braces are a great way to lose weight. The pain goes away then after a month they adjust them and it comes back.

Yep. Try using motrin or advil instead. Your teeth are moving a little bit.
