All the time. I just can't bring myself to wake him up when he's all curled up and warm. He's the cutest cat ever. I also do the same thing when my dog is in bed with me. They just look so serene, that I don't want to move them.

I don't have a headboard or footboard on my bed...and my cat sleeps next to me, on the opposite side of my full size bed...so that's never a problem..BTW my cat usually wakes ME up for food and attention!

I have once slept all night in the same place as the 2 cats go to sleep on top of the blankets between my legs. Why do cats like sleeping there.

I sure got a kick out of reading all the answers here. Thanks so much.

My cats seem to get up before I do so I don't have to maneuver around them.

My problem is getting my bed made after breakfast. With six cats there is usually one who has decided to take his morning nap on the bed. So I go in frequently during the morning to see when the bed if "free". Same problem with vacuuming. Most every room has a cat in it most of the day.

Sure saves a lot of energy for other things more fun or interesting.

climbing over the footboard or headboard's easy lol, it's when you're like a contortionist trying to get out of bed without disturbing his lordship/ladyship and end up sort of slithering out of bed down the side or like a snake shedding its skin, by degrees and very carefully!

Okay silly. Wake the cat. she/he will go back to sleep. my cat will glare at me and move to another spot on the bed. Usually when I wake, she's awake too (waking me up - cuz I'm late for work).
Disturbing the cat is a natural phenomenon with humans. so no worries there.

No, my cat has a sixth sense.

It KNOWS what time I awake, and it quietly unwinds itself, climbs onto my chest and eyeballs me.

If I dare to sleep longer than normal, I become aware of five little needles dabbing at my chin or my nose, and when I open my eyes, the cat immediately chirps and purrs.

How do they know what time it is?

More importantly, how can they know it is a weekday or a Sunday?

It never happens 'til 9.00am on Sundays, but at 6.30am any other day.

Cats are quite scary, and mine in particular, because it even knows when I am due home, and sits in the window five minutes beforehand!

Yes, oh yes! And sometimes don't get up from the sofa to go to the loo till the VERY last minute because I have one asleep on my lap. My husband is just the same. Our cats have a wonderful life - cats rule!

(By the way I wear a fringe, it's very handy for hiding the letters "m" "u" "g" written on my forehead!)

My cat likes to curl up next to my back, so when i get out of bed i try to fluff the duvet up so that it replaces me in the bed. Although when the clocks change it causes a lot of problems as unfortunatley my kitty hasn't learned to tell the time yet and she tends to get confused and wake me earlier than needed.
