A child will believe in the boogie man, the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny, and Santa clause if his mother tells him they are really. Is it really that big of a surprise that a child will believe in god?

You know that it is natural instinct for children to believe what there parents (and other authority figures) tell them. It’s important to their survival

I have no prob w/ parents teaching kids about God. That's not what the question was about, it was about basing your faith on the belief of a child

My son isn't a believer yet (he's 18 months) but if he chooses to believe (yep his choice) I will have already been believeing for decades before so I don't see how someone could base it on their child you either believe or you do not.

I have been a believer in Jesus ever since I can remember and I just seem to know that He was true. Santa and the Easter bunny, just faded away with ageing, not Jesus. His promises are true and stand the test of time. He promised to stay with me and He has. Parents teach children all kinds of things, what is your problem of teaching them about a God who loves them. Its funny how only this generation thinks its wrong to tell kids about God. And yet no kid in any school I ever went to or ever heard of, did I see kids killing kids in the schools. That is your generation of Godless kids. You have not told them to be accountable to God.and you are seeing the results, kids are not safe in schools.

If a parent(s) have a faith that is strong, the children will see it and either emulate it or rebel against it. We do the best we can in raising our precious ones. Let us do it right

Yes, children will believe anything. This is why religions try to indoctrinate kids early.

Christianity is based on faith...when the bible refers to the faith of a child it is simply making a reference to the innocence of a childs faith
