If the dealership was a buy here/pay here place then they will not report to the credit bureau unless you default on the loan. If it was a place that advertises 'no credit needed' and you needed to provide like a hundred references, then more than likely they didnt even run your credit. Most of those places ask for a large down payment (which is really what they paid for the car at the auction).

Don't forget, they might be reporting to one credit bureau while Kay's uses another! There is no law that they have to report at all...when and how much they report is simply up to the furnisher. I would contact your lender directly (whoever has the lien on the car) and ask them with who and how often they report.

Are you paying the dealer or a lender? If the dealer, tell them to report it, then go get financing through an honest bank.

Contact Equifax with your proof and ask them to update your account, then go to your bank and explain the situation and ask them for a loan to pay off this shady car dealer.
