And, if so, with the poisoning of Litvinenko, could it be possible that the fluids Litvinenko passed through his body may have contaminated the water supply or would the traces be too small to worry about. I know it's probably the latter but just wondered what the possibilities were.

Think of the water cycle, our water would've passed through dinosaurs at one point. It's ok though it is cleaned!
