You don't need to be a certain height to be a police man anymore, there are female officers now and they are obviously quite short. I've never heared of getting taller from swimming though is that true? If so I'm going to take it up me thinks! You stop growing when your 21.

I don't think you will have a problem height wise, joining the police, at 5ft 9 ins you should be well tall enough and as far as swimming making you taller, you may gain half an inch. good luck in whatever you do.

If you really wanted to join the police you would know there is no longer a height restriction........there is nothing you can do to increase your height. There is an operation that involves breaking both legs and being in traction, during which the traction is ever so slightly moved to increase bone growth. This is for very small people though.

I seriously doubt that swimming will help. However, if it doesn't sound too 'girly' for you, try Pilates. Aside from focusing on posture, and helping to create longer muscles, I actually know 2 people who have added an inch or more to their height because of Pilates in a short period of time. It couldn't hurt, and it might help.

I don't think that swimming will help and I also don't think you should worry about it. 5-9 is fine and I doubt very much if that will fall under the height requirement.

Don't be always thinking about your height and worrying about it, or you'll go crazy.

I think working yourself hard will make you taller. because I live near a military home in El Salvador and I noticed ALL of them are tall and square. Sleeping is good too. Eating healthy, sleep, and excerise can make you thin and tall.

No, it won't help you grow. The exercise may help your general health, but it won't make you taller.

(have someone teach you how to swim, or it could make you dead.) Seriously, not really hard to learn.
