My Walker Hound has a very bad odor and rashes on her legs. My neighbor said her vet once gave her pills for her dog that had the same problem but she doesn't remember what the medicine was.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your dog may have allergies. Or it could be staph. Both will cause a bad odor. If its allergies they may give a cortisone shot, which should help for awhile. Good luck. I have a stinky one myself.

Your dog needs to go to the vet and have her skin rash examined. The rash could easily be the cause of the odor and needs to be taken care of either way.

You should take your dog into the vet. If she has a rash and the rash is giving off a bad odor, this doesn't sound good...

I can't answer your Question . . . I suggest asking some of the online Veterinary sites such as:
www.vetmedicine.about.com
www.pets.ca/index-Q&A.html
www.petsage.com

To Remove Order From Dogs & Cats:

Bathe them with a solution of 1/2 cup of liquid chlorine bleach to each gallon of lukewarm suds.
Rinse and dry. This antiseptic bath aids in ridding animals of odors and helps prevent the spread of infection.

have no idea. could be mange, skin infection, thyroid condition. there is no medication that stops odor. Take your dog in and have it checked by your vet

Take her to the vet, have him/her look at the skin, he/she will prescribe something to help. Most likely a steroid with an antibiotic in it.

Your VET could tell you and prescribe it for your dog.
Why would you even wait so long before you take
your dog to the vet?
