When you know she will be out of the house, you need to sprinkle a path of Hershey Kisses on the floor from the front door to the bathroom--leading to the shower. In the shower, you can hang a bouquet of her favorite flowers (Better yet, you can be hiding in the shower with a bouquet of flowers in your hand.) The idea is that she will come in the house and follow the trail of candy to figure out what is going on. When she finally discovers you at the end of the trail (with flowers and a ring), you will say, "Now that I have kissed the ground you walked on and showered you with flowers, will you marry me?"

Definitely Memorable!!!

Some women DO propose marriage, but it's traditional for the male to propose.

Keep her interests in mind when planning the proposal and make it something personal between the two of you. My fiancee made the mistake of trying to take me to a restaurant we'd never heard of and ended up getting lost in the ghetto. I would have rather he took me to the Hyatt, where I'd always wanted to eat, or to the Chautauqua Institute - one of my favorite places near our town.

Ask yourself: what does she like? Has she mentioned anywhere she'd like to go? Is there any place special we've gone to in the past?

Make it meaningful and she'll love it.

Too many times, people try to focus on the "surprise" without taking into account that they have a history together and should be building off their unique personalities for a proposal that is truly special for the two of them.

On the beach at sunset. Oh goosebumps! How about a special place you have been or that is very dear to you guys? How about just out of the blue in your home like my fiance? He was all dressed up with a dozen roses and on one knee. This is something you need to do because she is who you know. I think she would just be excited any way! Lucky girl she is!

if she is private than make the proposal in a very intimate setting.

If she likes a lot of attention do it in a public setting (restaurant, party, dinner at a family home)

It should cater to her likes and her personality. It should not be stressful or phony.

My husband had three of my friends present when he proposed at our home and it was perfect for me and my taste!!

Of course I said YES!!!!!!

ooohhh, do something like you always see on tv, like if your at a public place do it in a way that ties in with the night, like if your at a b-ball game, ask her on the advertisement board, ive always thought that would be a perfect way to be proposed to. but your more of a romanticist, then a fancy restaurant, the beach, the classics always work.

My friend's husband did this for her, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. He took her out to dinner, had a good time but nothing over the top, then he took her back to his parent's house, just for a visit. But he had called all of her friends and family, and we were all in the house, and he brought her in, and while she was still stunned and trying to figure out what was going on he got down on one knee. Amazing. She's really close to her family, so it only made sense for him to share the most memorable day of her life with all of them, and us, her and his friends.

Don't do anything lavish. She does not like this. Take her to a place you both like and ask her. She will say yes.
