After receiving several scathing responses to my post, I would like to challenge those who responded to look themselves in the eye and tell themselves that they've never made a mistake. I am a law-abiding citizen. I've never even been pulled over by a police officer. Also, several people commented on a mis-spelling in my original post. It's called a "typo" and they are fairly common in scripted communications. I appreciate everyone's responses, but please let those without sin cast the first stone.

Hello...spell check! First off you had to be doing something that would catch the attention of someone, be it the police officer or a citizen who might have called about your actions. In most states you can't be arrested for being intoxicated in public unless you are acting in such a way that would create a danger to others or yourself. Second, if you were drunk in public I guess you shouldn't consider yourself a law abiding citizen now should you? Lesson learned I hope. In the meantime you might want to get a lawyer and/or check with the prosecutor and see if you can work out some type of alternative to a guilty plea to avoid having a conviction on your record. (you now have a record which will follow you forever) I would suggest a few weekends at a local shelter for homeless or something of that sort. Lastly, drink at home and stay there. It's really not that cool to be sloppy drunk acting foolish!

Is this Public Intoxication? If you were drunk, you should have had an designated person to keep you from ridiculous behavior. Sorry. Do the crime do ....

Well, life sucks, doesn't it?? Do the crime, do the time, pay the fine, and all that stuff that goes with it. You dig the hole, you lay in it.

And..by the way.....how do you have a career with that horrific spelling???

well, not completely, obviously, if you were charged with public intoxication.

Just pay the fine and you should be fine. (and sober up for work)
