Depending on what job you want to door what field you want to get into, I recommend the Navy. My husband has been in the Navy for 11 years and has loved almost every minute of it. We've been stationed in Hawaii, Italy and all over the US. He's also been on deployment all over the US.

If you're wavering between Navy & Marine Corps become a Navy Corpsman. They work with both. Marines don't have their own medics; there's always Corpsmen with each unit. You get the best of both worlds.

Same as Damian S. - my cousin will be finishing up his tour of duty in Cicily in July of 07, but he did actually go to Iraq for 6 months. I am very interested in the Navy, but we all must remember that joining the Navy doesn't keep you from being sent to Iraq. My cousin was a Hull Technician 2nd class, trained to disarm bombs underwater. He was in a disarming unit for 6 months and is now recieving an award given to one member of each military branch. It would be an amazing experience, in my opinion

Each service has good and bad. Financially they are the same for salary and benefits. Determine what you want to accomplish for yourself by joining; patriotism is alive and well in all four military services and the Coast Guard.

Ask veterans you meet this question: If you had to choose all over again, what branch would you want to be in. If they chose the same service, as again but not including their past branch as a choice.

I am a veteran, retiring from one of the branches after 20 years service. I do not want to throw propaganda at you, talk to the people you know and respect.

I chose army...pay scale is the same no matter which branch of service you join....I don't like boats so navy was out for me....the USMC wanted me to be 5'4" to be an MP and I couldn't find an extra 1/2" to throw up on my head....If i had to do it over I'd pick the airforce....they have more money to spend on thier airmen (not in actual pay but in things like newer equipment, toilet paper (had to buy my own toilet paper in AIT), food, etc.....) but what ever you choose will admirable all the same.

well I would chose the Marines but it really depends on how much you really love your country because from front line to last it starts with the Rangers as bait then the Marines then the rest follow you must also take in to account that Navy is only the ocean AF only the air but the Marines are all and more

You know that those aren't the only branches of the military! You have the Army and of course my personal favorite the Coast Guard (we protect the Coast). I've saved 100 lives in the past 2 months. I don't know about you but that's pretty darn cool to me!

bypass military!!! ROTC certainly has an result on your status after college. in case you finished a 4 year ROTC software, you will possibly be immediately commissioned out of school extremely than having to bypass via boot camp, officer education and blah blah blah. additionally, in case you opt for to be a pilot, i decide for to propose getting a level in Engineering or something in Aeronautics. this might make it lots much less complicated to get picked up and make it into the pilot software. stable success!

WOW!!!! Okay, first, ignore the asshole who called us murderers. Second, you should be commended for your willing to make the sacrifice to fight for your country, and by doing so, you are fighting for the aforementioned asshole's right to say ignorant **** like that without getting executed in public.
But it all depends on what you're willing to do job wise and what you're looking for in the way of experience and benefits. Kudo to you for fighting for your country and supporting this way of life.
