Lately I have been experiencing these symptoms:
Earache
Headache (sometimes)
Throat problems (feels like mucus)
Cracking in my head (especially when I move my head back and forth against a hard surface)

These symptoms come and go. It has been accuring on and off for months.

Has anyone had similar symptoms and if so, what was your prognosis?

I don't usually move my head against a hard surface. It was accidental. I had my head up against the window in the car and when I moved my head, I heard the cracking.

Not a cold if its been going on for months. You probably have allergies, though I don't know what that crackling business with you head might be. If over the counter antihistimines clear things up, use 'em, along with aspirin, ibuprophen, etc for pain reliefe. then sit down & ponder what you might be allergic to--something that came into your life around the time you first noticed all this. Or you could spend the time & money & get allergy tested--often called a patch or scratch test because they scratch your skin with different common allergens in a pattern (patch) on your arm or back. Once you have that info, you can start eliminating the problem from your environment--for air born stuff, I have a couple "Ionic Breezes" around my place. Much better now. (sniff)

Could be allergies or a sinus infection. Post nasal drip causes the throat problems. I can't imagine why you are moving your head against a hard surface; stop it and THAT symptom at least will go away!)
See a physician.

I would say you may have sinus problems, they come and go. Its like allergies. different things bring them on. apply warm moist heat to your ear, forehead, stay away from dairy products for a few days, that can cause mucus. heating pad works great on ear and face
