They don't follow those other religions. And there are many that do who don't bother getting married before having children. In today's society, with so much religious emphasis on marriage, I know lots of people who don't want to bother at all. We need a completely secular and completely legal alternative - civil union doesn't give all the same benefits.

Not in Scientology. Besides, there are people getting pregnant before they get married in all sorts of walks of life. At least they didn't have an abortion because they were afraid of what their parents or congregation would think.
