It is so greasy and messy and you need to eat healthier

Yes that never made sense to me either.
I remember clearly in Health class our teacher telling us that a slice of cheese pizza with ham and pineapple would be perfectly healthy and give a serving (or more) of each of the 5 food groups: crust (grains), tomato sauce (veggies), cheese (dairy), ham (meat) and pineapple (fruit).
I suppose if one were to make a pizza at home from scratch and use low fat cheeses, fresh vegetables, etc. it could be a healthy choice.

Well, because of all of the fat in it for one thing. Pizza is topped with lots of cheese, and it's not low-fat cheese either. The meats that they put on pizza (pepperoni, sausage) are also high in fat. When you consider the fat that's in the meat and the cheese combined, you're taking in a lot - and it's generally quite a bit of saturated fat, which isn't good for your heart. On top of that, the sauce and meats in pizza are high in sodium, too much of which can also contribute to high blood pressure and heart problems. Finally, pizza crust generally isn't whole grain, meaning that you are consuming a lot of empty calories, not to mention carbs, which are only going to make you gain weight.

Try making your own pizza at home. Increase the veggies, use less cheese, and make a whole wheat crust.

It has a bad combination of alll the groups. In what other dish would you normally consume that much cheese? And all the grease that's on it too? That ain't no food group!

It has a lot of grease on it and the bread has an endless amount of calories. Unless you consider that healthy?

I've heard it is but you have to watch your amounts. The thicker the crust the more calories. There is a proper limit in bread products each day.
