well to reserve the question you would have to go on the date to find out that it was a bad date! so really the question should maybe be ""Would you rather spend a night at home with your cat than go out on 'another' bad date?"

Unfortunatley you wont know its been a bad date until after the event. But with hind sight the cat or dog in my case would win every time, with a good bottle of red as well of course!!

Yep. At least with a cat you know what to expect. It will either sleep at your feet or completely ignore you. Both are better options than a bad date...
