My baby just dropped the remote in the bathtub and I fished it out real quick so it did not get water logged or anything, but it still did get wet. It is not working right now, but will it work again after it gets dried out? Has this ever happened to anyone? Thanks.

Well thats a downer. Your remote should work because I dropped mine in a cup of water one night and it stayed in there like all night and when i woke up i was pretty mad but then i put it by the heater to dry and it still works.

good luck with your kid and remote.

Possibly...electronics are fickle...just take it apart as much as you can and lay it on a towel for a day or so till it dries out completely. I once flushed a pager and ended up blowing it dry and it worked fine. However, I don't recommend using a blow dryer to dry out your remote. There's no telling what the heat could do to the components and it might damage it worse than the water.

LOL, our remote when through the washing machine once! It didn't work at first either, but after a day or so a few buttons began to work. After a week it was back to normal! My son threw my cell phone in the toilet and tried to flush it, and that worked after a day as well. Gotta love our kids!

It may work and it may not but universal remotes are only a couple of dollars at the local store! My niece dropped her dads wallet into the kitchen sink as she heard him earlier say it was dirty and he should clean it...one day ! Well she thought today was one day! Congrats to the first of many silly things to come !!!

I've had similar things happen but unfortunately I can blame only myself. :-)

The only luck I've ever had with resurrecting a wet piece of electronics was taking it apart as much as I could and putting it in a warm place to dry out. I'd say my results with that are about 50-50. Good luck!

Why would you let a baby have the remote? And near a bathtub? Lesson #1, babies should play with their own ta=oys not yours.
