My pommie is 2 yrs old and weighs about 10 lbs. For the past 3 days he's had loose stool so I called the vet to get an appointment yesterday and they said he may have just got into something, to let it run it's course since otherwise he's acting perfectly normal. So that was the plan, then about 30 minutes ago he started having bloody stool.

I'm going to take him in first thing Monday but until then I'm wondering what I can do to settle his stomach. I know some people give Pedialyte to there dogs and that's safe but I can't figure out how much to give him. Should I go by the baby weight chart?

Yes, he's up to date on all shots as well as monthly worming. He's our baby so we take very good care of him.

Give the pedialyte freely. Dogs generally drink what they need. As long as the dog is hydrated, things should go well. I hope they get to the bottom of this soon. If your dog refuses liquids, try vanilla ice cream. Most dogs can be enticed by this to avoid dehydration until you can get to your vet. He will get better soon.

has this dog had its shots?????Since you are asking about something to settle its stomach then it must be throwing up... Pedialyte is not to settle the stomach, it is to prevent dehydration.
GET TO AN emergency vet NOW......... Bloody stools and vomitting are symptoms of a serious problem. If it has not had its shots it could be parvo, it also can be worms or some other underlying problems, DO NOT WAIT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Bloody stool is a bad sign! Take the pom in ASAP and have a vet chek it out....better safe than sorry. It can be parvo. This will lead to dehydration and a vet bill, so do it like tomorrow! Good luck.
