Today I was at Wal-mart and they were unable to offer an elderly woman in a motorcart do her shopping. I overheard them talking and offered to help her.... even with my two young girls with me.

Cool post/question.

I try to do as many good things as I can to teach my four children the value of helping others to help yourself. So...

I attend grad school full time. There is a young guy in one of my class that cannot (not a matter of can and doesn't, but he cannot) drive. He happens to live on my way home, so I take him to and from school without accepting any gas money in return.

Also, we are a military family, so my oldest daughter and I went online, found a Marine stationed in Iraq that is trying to find somebody to send things to guys in his unit that won't get anything for Christmas and we sent him three boxes of stuff...fun stuff and useful stuff too. Check out anysoldier.com if you want to do something similar!

My wife and I offered to take a "poor" couple grocery shopping. they have no car and were w/out food until food stamps on the 12th. We were very humbled by this expierence and realize how fortunate we are.

I donated to a local charity. Also, I was kind enough to let my brother in law move in with us for a few weeks so he could save money in order to get his own place.

A nerdy outcast kind of kid at my school dropped his glove on the way into the school, I picked it up and gave it back to him.
This is a good feel-good question, thanks!

I don't do good deeds any more. It isn't appreciated, its a waste of time. I'd rather have Big Government have to pay people to do good things that need to be done so they don't have the money to waste locking harmless people up in prison or starting stupid wars.
