My dad is paying for his apartment and living expenses. I am 3 years older and have a good job but am working on paying off medical bills and so forth before I move out. He is getting on my nerves.

well i think you should talk to him and try to make him understand that your are not the one to be insult your his sister and also older than hím so he should respect you not insult you. talk to him a very good way i mean not to be hardt to him to try to talk in a very slow and good way. ask him th ereson why he insult you atleast your his sister, your the only one who can help him in his bad days, your the only one who can understand him because you and him are from one blood and he should know that.
i know that no sister will see her brother in trouble. i know a sister's heart is like a mom heart very kind and sweet , i can say that because i am a sister too and i cant see any thing bad with my brothers .
So the only way is to do something to feel him that your his older sister and you love him .

Your brother is insulting you? Well consider this, your more mature, more grown up, and people will probably have more respect for you because you work hard, and pay for your own things. Ok he is not mature if he has to go to "daddy" to pay for his entire life. Your much better off without him. Usually when you insult someone with a better life than you it means your jealous, and insecure. You sound strong and you should be more respected.

First of all if Daddy is paying for his apartment that is nothing to be proud of, he is still a little boy living under his fathers roof. Also since he no longer lives in the same house as you, just ignore his stupid remarks and insults.

Sounds like he is giving you a hard time you dont deserve. When he insults you people will notice and the only thing it will do is make people think he is jealous. Believe me, the words will not sway yor family's opinion. Dont take him out with your friends!
I like Lizards idea of resorting to violence. That will definitely make him feel less mature than you.

People like your brother get off by your reactions to his insults. Get a tough skin and just act like it doesnt bother you or just give him a real dry 'WHATEVER'. Once he gets it in his mind that he cant affect you, he will stop. I can remember when I was in Middle School there were these high school guy who everyday would drive back and forth by us and call us n iggers. They were getting off on our anger and reactions. We finally just ignored them and my my my it wasnt long before they werent bothering us anymore.
