Would you advise about cuts of steak. I am aware that they can be so expensive that one would rather not buy such a thing .... but what is affordable and really nice, please...

So much depends on what you like in a steak, the way it is prepared and cooked and the individual beast it came from.

The general rule is that tenderer cuts of beef are more expensive and have less taste. This is also because the tenderer cuts tend to be marbled with fat.

The most expensive steak comes from Japanese wagyu beef - the cattle are a special breed, they have a special diet and get massages and beer.

Cheaper cuts of steak can be made tenderer and more palatable through marinating and good cooking.

Also don't overcook steak. Most chefs recommend no more than medium rare; more tends to dry the meat out and make it tougher.

edited after reading someone saying that marbled fat has no flavor.........NOT SO! ASK any BUTCHER or CHEF.

My butcher always said Rib Steaks have the best flavor...IF you live in the USA.........it's not as expensive as say japan. Most of us cannot afford Kobe beef.
These are the best flavored steaks
****** Kansas City Cut Steak******
is A1 for flavor

1. Rib Steak
2. Rib Eye
3. Porterhouse (has more loin)
4. T Bone
5. Fillet Mignon

These are your better flavored steaks starting at the top. Fillet is Good but flavor comes from the marbling of the fat. Which fillet Mignon doesn't have much of.

New York Strip is good but can be dry.......

All of these are affordable if you give up something else to have it.

i would take sirloin steak.
It is normally cheaper. I also think sirloin has the best flavor. But it is sometimes a bit tougher meat.
