That is truly false. I believe that rumor has arisen from the Old Testament's description of the Jew's exodus from Egypt 3000 years ago, in which they killed a lamb and used its blood, but not for drinking. The holiday of Passover, which commemorates this exodus, is celebrated in March or April. I have no idea where the sex thing comes in at all, because it is false.

Hmmm? It actually could be true, though the way you stated it makes it sound like both activities take place together.

Okay so here's how it goes: There is a holiday called Passover that celebrates the Jews being led out of Egypt by Moses. In Biblical times, the Jews sacrificed and ate lamb in Jerusalem on that holiday. Now that the temple is destroyed, they do not sacrifice a lamb, because according to Judaism that is a major sin without a Temple.

In the Jewish communities of greater Europe, people also do not eat lamb on that holiday, or any roasted meat, because they don't want it to look like they sacrificed an animal.

Among the Sephardi Jews you were reading about, some do make sure to eat lamb on Passover. PAssover falls in March or April.

Now about having marital relations (sex): On most Jewish holidays and the Sabbath it is a part of the joy of the holiday for husband and wife to enjoy marital relations together, if it is during the times they are permitted to be together. This is done privately, like normal, after everyone has gone to bed and the kids are asleep. It is considered in Judaism a commandment from G-d at these times.

SO to answer your question, thee is a holiday in March where Spanish and Asian Jews eat lamb and have marital relations on the same day; but not in the sense of gorging on lamb meat and having an orgy. They eat lamb as part of a festive meal, and later, when they go to bed, they have marital relations.

Nowhere in the Old Testament is this type of festival spoken of. However, as the Old Testament Jews were living in Canaan (later known as Israel & Judah), it is mentioned that they picked up some of the "detestable practices" of their neighbors, the Canaanites. These people often used sexual activities in their "religious" rituals, so it is very possible that at some point the Jews had a relgious ritual in which this was the case.

Generally speaking, the Passover was when they ate lamb, which was a reminder of the Exodus from Egypt, and the tenth plague. It was symbolic of the sacrifice of the Messiah -- one innocent person giving his life for all. There were, however, no sexual activities involved in this celebration.

they have instructions on what to eat, how to prepare it, how to observe the holy days, how to deal with things like a woman's period, even how to use the restroom. the only instructions i remember about sex was that they were to leave animals, alone and that it was an abomination to be sexually active with the same sex. and it is also a sin to have sex outside of marriage, and with the spouse of another person.it is called committing adultery.most of it can be found in Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

not at all. while lamb is kosher, there is no current religious time set aside specifically to eat lamb. and in terms of times to have sex, they have little to do with the holiday calendar.
