Well we start of the morning by going to Eid namaz(prayers) There we obviously pray and see other peopel talk and all that. Then normally, my family will celbrate bieing able to finally eat by going to all of our rlatives and family freinds houses and eating. We eat dates, biryani, samosas, chicken, lamb, and tons and tons of sweets. The kids normally get eidi which is either int he form of money or toys. Sometimes we will go for Eid picnics in the park. at the picnics we eat, fool around, and just enjoy being in one anothers company. For me Eid is the time where I get to see and talk to all the people that I would not normally be with. Everyone comes together. And then at night eiter we will go to aparty or have people over to our house. People by new clothes and wear clothing representing our heritage. basically it is an all day celebration. Also if we can't fit everybhody and everything in one day we will drag Eid on for days and says celebrating every night for sometimes a week.

Eid is celebrated twice a year. Once, after Ramadan and fasting is finished. The name for this eid in arabic is "Eid-ul=Fitr". The guys start the day by showering and dressing up and go to pray the "Eid Namaz" the eid prayer at the mosque. While they pray, women get shower, get dressed and make "sawiya". It's a traditional food consisting or string like fiber mixed in with milk and sugar. There are alot of different ways of making and eating sawiya. The guys come home from the prayer and everyone hugs and congratulates for the holiday. Then everyone eats sawiya. From then on, it really depends on the family what to do. Most people gather at a family members house and gifts or money is given ou tthe kids of the families. After the prayer, it's really up to you how to celebrate your Eid.
The other Eid is when when it's time to sacrafice an animal in Allah's name. This Eid's arabic name is "Eid-ul-Azha". On this day again the males get up early and pray the "eid namaz", eid prayer in the mosque. Then when they return they sacrafice their animal(sometimes a cow, sheep, camel or goat). When cutting the throat of their chosen animal they say "allah hu akbar". Afterwards they make bags of the meat of the animal and share it with their families, friends, aquintances. On Eid-ul-Azha, the gifts are considered to be the meat from on'es sacraficed animal and that is what is given out.
