I was watching American Rewind tonight, and just decided to do a little reading upon all the winners, and discovered they were all Christians. Even quite a few of the runner ups were Christian as well.

Many say because we live in a Christian based society, most christians are voting which explains why most of the winners are Christian. I'm not so sure I agree. There are different reality shows on television that have to do with modeling, dancing, singing, comedy, ect, and most winners rarely say they're christian, but will admit they embrace several new age or pagan religions, or consider themselves "spiritual" rather than religious or Christian. That's why I thought this observation was surprising.

I understand your point about people who claim to be christians, not being christian like. But of those who have won, they have all conducted themselves in a respectable manner on the show, and I have not noticed the type of dress or behavior you've mentioned during their performances. They've also spoken of their beliefs and activities in the church. The truth is that only God knows the heart. Thus, if someone says they are christian, and behaves in a Christian manner, I have no reason to doubt them.

Good observation. Carrie Underwood is awesome and she really loves God. I didn't realize the rest were also Christian. Well, maybe Reuben.

Not everyone who says that he/she is Christian is really a Christian.
I'm not saying that those people you just mentioned are not Christian, but I'm saying that just becasue they say so it doesn't hold water...
For example, I was watching AMA (american music awards) and I saw almost everybody were saying "thank God", "thank you Jesus" etc., but it doesn't make them Christians. Some of those people were dressed almost naked and after performing saying "thank you Jesus" or "God bless you" or something like that, but that's nuts!! If you respect Jesus, you do what he says. I don't remember Him sayind: "dress like a sl%t" or "sleep with as many people as you can, and then say 'thank you Jesus'". You get my point, right?
there is a quote I remember from somewhere: "one can be a good man without being a Christian, but one cannot be a Christian without being a good man".
So, keep it in mind. Actions speak louder then the words!

~~peace~~
p.s. sorry for criticisms, but they are necessary.

75% of the American population are Christians, so what did you expect? It was all in the odds.
